Pretties for my Kitties

Today I decided to use some leftovers from recent costume making, and create a catnip toy for Julius and Brutus out of them.
First I went to the petstore and got some dried catnip, and then I sat down and created this:

The catnip is inside the little velvet bag, and I added a tiny silk bow and rose, and some feathers. I put all of this on a piece of black elastic.
When I was done, it was time for some animal-friendly animal-testing :) Luckily for me, I have two catnip addicted cats, so they automatically loved it!
Here's a pic of Brutus playing with it:

I'd say 'Mission Accomplished'. I've had a lot of fun creating this, so I'm planning on making more catnip toys. Next one will be a little catnip bat, and I have several more ideas. I'll keep you posted!
What do you guys think of my newest kitteh-creation?

NOTD - Catrice Caught on the Red Carpet + CG Matte Magic

I don't know about this. I adore matte black, but this matte bloodred, I dunno.
This is Catrice's Caught on the Red Carpet, with China Glaze Matte Magic as topcoat. To be perfectly honest, I think I like this pretty red colour better when worn with a glossy topcoat.

I've messed it up a bit anyways, because looking at my ring finger, I should have chosen for 3 coats of the Catrice polish instead of 2. Oh well, it's Monday, always the crappiest day of the week ;)
How about you guys, what do you think of this combination, and is Monday your 'blegh'-day as well?

NOTD - Catrice Blue Out to Sea

Today's NOTD is one from the Limited Edition Oceana collection that Catrice had in stores last spring.
I'm wearing a blue shirt today in almost exactly the same colour as this polish, so I thought it'd be nice to use this nailpolish today.

Catrice's nail polishes are usually of good quality, especially considering they only cost €2,49. Here in Holland, they can be bought at Kruidvat and Trekpleister, two Dutch drugstores.
This is 2 coats, photographed in sunlight, and I didn't use flash. I love the pretty blue shimmer in this colour!

Enchantra's #FF

The lovely people at Enchantra, the webshop I wrote about earlier this week in my NOTD Rodeo Diva article, also keep a very nice Dutch blog at Enchanting Beauty.
On fridays, they often publish articles in the #FF category, an idea they got from the famous #FollowFriday hashtag on Twitter. These articles are written by other beautybloggers.
When I tweeted about my new blog, they asked me to write an article for #FF. Ofcourse I couldn't say no to that!
You can find my article here.

Enchantra is a great webshop, run by the sweetest people, and they sell some pretty awesome brands, like China Glaze and Coastal Scents, and from what I've heard on Twitter, they will be adding some more brands very soon. I have six CG polishes, and two CS palettes from them, as well as two of the CS gelliners (love, love, love the black one, will do a review later). They offer great customer service, so I can definitely recommend purchasing some stuff in their webshop!

Review - Eyeko Line and Shine pencils

I recently purchased all three of these very cute pencils from Eyeko, a London based cosmetics webshop that ships for free all over Europe. I also got their Vampira polish, which I will make a NOTD for later.

NOTD - China Glaze Branding Iron

This is one of the colours from the 2008 fall collection Rodeo Diva. Sucker for vampy colours as I am, I fell instantly in love with this colour when I bought it last July at Enchantra, a Dutch cosmetics webshop.
I ordered 4 colours from this collection then, and those were my first China Glaze polishes. I now love this brand, as these polishes apply very smoothly, and 2 layers are usually enough. So I'll probably be ordering more very soon!

2 layers, photographed in sunlight, no flash

Branding Iron is a beautiful deep, shimmery burgundy red, and this is exactly what I think of when I think about vampy colours. In some lights this colour reminds me of the red glass used in some stained glass church windows. Beautiful!

Mini top hat!

A while back I decorated my first mini top hat, and I've got to say I've had a lot of fun with creating it, so I'm probably going to make more in the future. For now, this one is sitting next to my television, as a home accessory. My living room is all black, white and red, so it suits there perfectly.
I bought the base hat and the cameo at De Poppenkraal, which is such an addictive, lovely shop! I definitely need more of their products!

What do you guys think of my first hat creation?

Welcome!

Right now I guess you're thinking 'Ahmahgawd, not another beautyblog!'.
I'll try my best to make this blog not just a beautyblog like so many others out there. In order for me to be able to explain how, I'll first tell you guys a little bit about myself.

I am Sanne, a 26 year old photographer from the Netherlands, and I've been using the online nickname Morrigan for about 7 or 8 years now. I've always had an interest in Pagan lore, and specifically Celtic deities. The Morrigan is the Celtic Goddess of War, which makes her the ultimate tough girl in my opinion. She sometimes takes the form of a raven to fly above the battlefields, and I absolutely love all birds from the crow family (and cats, wolves and snakes, but that's a whole other subject).

Next to this pagan/wiccan interest, I am also a make-up addict, I love to create gothic style clothing, and I'm a major sucker for anything fantasy and horror (television series, movies, books, games, you name it).
I intend to focus this blog around my interests, so it'll primarily be a blog about make-up and other beautyproducts, but with a gothic/fantasy twist.

Something that's also very important to me is cruelty free cosmetics. I shall therefore only write about products from companies that do not test on animals, and use only ingredients that have not been tested. I will also create a list of companies that are cruelty free.

From time to time I will also write about the other topics that interest me, like the costumes I create, or a book I've been reading.

I hope you'll enjoy reading my blog, and please feel free to comment on my posts, or become a follower! I'd be very honoured if you do :)

Also, please keep in mind that I am from Holland, and therefore my native language is not English. I will try my best not to make any spelling mistakes, but an occasional error happens to us all :)
